Paper Flight Precision Landing & Ring Hunt Guide: Stick the Landing, Chain the Rings
Flying far is one thing. Landing exactly where you want and threading ring after ring are something else. This guide digs into two Paper Flight modes: Precision landing and Ring hunt.

🎯 Precision landing: a world of one-meter errors
Each round puts a red target somewhere between 250 and 450m, and your score is the distance between the target and where you touch down. Lower is better, and there's no rescue.
1. Launch "just enough"
Throw as hard as in Distance mode and you'll sail right past. Go gentle for a close target (around 250m) and a bit harder for a far one (around 450m). The fastest way to learn: throw normally the first time, read the result's "overshot / fell short", and adjust next round.
2. Going long? Stall
When you're slow, hold the screen and the wings shake as you drop faster. Use it when the target is right below you and you're still too high. Do it too early and you'll land well short, so aim to stall just above the target.
3. Falling short? Find an updraft
Raise the nose in a mint updraft to stay up a bit longer. Holding outside an updraft just bleeds speed and drops you.
Land within 1m for the "Pinpoint" achievement.
💍 Ring hunt: collect rings for 60 seconds
Fly through rings for 60 seconds. Each section has three rings at different heights.
1. The combo is everything
A ring is worth 10 × your combo, up to 100 points. A 10-point ring at combo 1 is a 100-point ring at combo 10. So not breaking the chain matters far more than grabbing lots of rings.
2. Touching the ground ends the combo
You bounce back up and keep flying, but the combo breaks. Don't skim too low. Make the middle ring your default and go for the high or low ones only when you have room.
3. Look one ring ahead
As you pass a ring, already line up with the next one's height. React late and you'll yank the nose up right in front of it and lose speed.
In simulation an idle plane scored about 60, a beginner about 130 and a ring-chasing bot about 450. 300 points earns "Ring hunter".
