A New Board Every Day, the Same for Everyone: Number Pop's Daily Challenge

Number Pop now has a third mode: the Daily Challenge (v0.8). As our first step toward version 1.0, the goal was simple: give players a reason to come back every day.

How does it work?

  • A new board opens every day at midnight Korea time, and every player gets the same starting board.
  • Make 20 links without hints and you are done. There is no time limit.
  • Scoring is 30 for 3 tiles, 50 for 4 and 80 for 5. Twenty 5-tile links would score a perfect 1600.
  • You can replay the day's board as often as you like; your best score counts as today's record.

If Score Challenge is about "fast and many", the Daily Challenge is about "slow and long". No clock is chasing you, but every move changes the numbers that fall next, so it feels much more like solving a puzzle.

🏆 Daily leaderboard (added in v0.9.6)

After a run, you can post your score to today's leaderboard with just a nickname. No sign-in, and posting is optional. The server replays all 20 of your links to verify the score and keeps only your best of the day. The top 50 are shown, and "Delete my public records" on the leaderboard screen removes yours anytime.

🔥 Daily streaks

Finish all 20 links at least once a day and your streak grows by one. The Daily Challenge card on the home screen shows it, like "🔥 3-day streak", and missing a day resets it to 1.

Streaks and scores are stored in your browser, and nothing is sent to our servers unless you post to the leaderboard. No sign-up needed.

Tips for a high score

  1. Look for 5-tile paths first. With unlimited time, it pays to scan the board until you find 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5. One 5-tile link (80) beats two 3-tile links (60).
  2. Think about what falls. Numbers above a popped cell slide down. Popping near the bottom shifts whole columns, which can create new paths or break the one you were saving.
  3. Replay the same board. The starting board stays the same all day, so paths you spotted in your first run can be grabbed earlier in the next.
